The idea for this case was born from a client looking for a rod case for an upcoming trip to Europe.
I use my 3D printer to print the tube in-house. The tube shell is schedule 40 (.25") polycarbonate plastic and is stronger and lighter than PVC. Because the tube is 3D printed, I can scale its diameter up to 9.5" and its length infinitely.
The divider is not new but until now has been limited to the big retailers who can afford the molds and quantities that make it worth it. While the compartments take up some interior space of the tube, a designated compartment for each rod will vastly reduce the wear and tear on those rods.
Each case comes with a cap held in place by a double strap that can be extended by 2 inches. A second cap can be added onto the bottom for an additional 2 inches of extension for +$50. Check my rod case accessories for the second cap or just let me know and I'll add it.

The 22" Travel Rod Case - this case is 22" total length including the leather end caps. The tube inside is 21.5". At 22" overall, it will comply with airline carry on restrictions. Airlines update and change their restrictions all the time, so you need to do your due diligence for your preferred or upcoming airline restrictions.
For rod tubes >55": Limitations with the length of the leather hides are such that I need to use two pieces of leather sewn together with a French seam ~halfway down the tube (a little less than half way if you have a trunk handle).
This is for purchase of the fly rod case with a 2 inch extendable cap. Trunk handle, shoulder strap, and additional 2" extendable cap can be purchased separately.
Rod not included.
